I am currently working on an album cover for a Catholic, Celtic band. Please take the time to rank which cover you like best. Feel free to make suggestions or constructive criticisms in the comment section below. God bless.

My take
The green covers are far more visually interesting to me. (especially the yellowish green one with the bright star).
The first photo (#2) I believe would be better without the filmstrip at the bottom. The other observation is ... why won't they look into the camera? Was that by design or something?
OK...one other thing I just noticed...the font of Morningstarre in the first 3 images is alot easier to read.

CD COVER - Update
Thank you for your input. So, the kids saw the options and then the changes started to begin...
So, here is where we're at so far:

As you can see, they went with the harder-to-read font : (
I'll be working on the back and inside tray tonight. Hopefully they will like it and it can go to press. They have the master recording complete and are waiting on me to get this done. Stay tuned...
Oh yeah! To answer your question, they did have like one or two pictures where they were looking into the camera, but they were so far away, that they would become distorted if you tried to enlarge them, because of the resolution (hints why I needed to have either something above/below or a border around the picture) Plus, they are a celtic band so I think they want to look mysterious (which means no smile either).

Being Packaged and Sealed!
They have approved the final layout and it is being being printed and sealed as we speak (type). I'm excited to see what it looks like when it is done. They said it should take a couple weeks. I mentioned DiscMakers as a good company to go with (that's who my parents used when I designed their second and third album covers). He suggested we go with a local company out of Cleveland, Ohio, which I thought was a great idea. DiscMakers is not hurting, but our local economy is taking a huge hit right now. Make me proud Ohio : )

Congratulations! Either way would be a good; I've also had a great experience with DiskMakers. Hopefully Ohio comes through!
The costumer is very pleased with some of the album covers I've come up with. He can't wait to show the kids. They had another guy working on the album cover, but the kids scared him off, because they couldn't agree on what they wanted. That's why I'm hoping that the ranking system will help them in their decision process : )
