I've been a big fan of FileZilla for a long time...but I'm thinking of actually paying a few bucks for something with a few more frills.

Liking what I see from Transmit. Anyone else using it? Any other suggestions?

Coda = Great IDE + FTP...

I've been using Coda almost exclusively for development, management, FTP, etc., and for my meager needs it's been rockin' awesome - especially with it's easy sites management (I work with about 15 different servers, so it's nice to have them all in one), SSH terminal built-in, and in-app previews.

But for one-off FTP use, I mostly use CyberDuck, as it's lean, mean, and works great with every server. FileZilla always seemd a little more sluggish/less Mac-ish to me.

YummyFTP

I used Transmit for almost 2 years, and loved the interface. But for the past year or so I've used YummyFTP. It has about every feature imaginable for FTP, and is in constant development (unlike Transmit). I'm not going to list the features, since you can get them from their website. But I recommend it over Transmit. Haven't used CyberDuck or FileZilla.

Went with Transmit

Like I mentioned in my text editor post...liked the tight integration with Coda.

Thanks Joel for that YummyFTP tip. Hadn't heard of it and it looks very good.

The biggest bummer was I had to manually enter about 20 FTP sites. FileZilla exports an XML for settings backup, so I just opened it up on one screen and entered the sites into Transmit on the other.

One major downside to Coda

One major downside to Coda (for me) is the fact that sites don't sync over MobileMe or any other service. I keep having to add sites (and update changed passwords and such) on three different Macs!

Hopefully this feature will be forthcoming, but I won't get my hopes up too much.

yeah, that doesn't sound fun

I've been using DropBox to keep my data in sync between my mac and pc...but it's just that...data.

I've been on the fence for awhile on MobileMe....are you pretty happy with it?

Yes and no... the mail

Yes and no... the mail service has been rock solid going on eight years now... at least, for me. I started with geerlingguy@mac.com on the first day iTools was publicly available, and there have only been two or three days I can remember when mail wasn't working.

I used to use the homepage.mac.com site for my own personal site (www.lifeisaprayer.com) but have since gotten rid of that.

The syncing works flawlessly across three Macs, an iPhone, and one PC. Haven't tried doing preference syncing, and the main reason is that I use different apps in different ways, depending on the computer I'm using and where I'm using it ;-)

I would rather have Coda sync alone... but I might try using Transmit to sync, then import from Transmit to Coda whenever I add a new site.
