Just some thoughts...

  • Maybe expand the profiles a bit? Maybe include what technologies people use (e.g. *nix, PHP, RoR, etc.)
  • RSS feeds for forums, blogs, articles
  • Links section.

Great work Jeff.

Thanks!

I'll add a few things in later today; the profiles should definitely be expanded :-)

[Edit] I've updated the profiles considerably, but am definitely open to more options and features there. Haven't ever had quite the same kind of community site as this one!

New Posts Since Last Visit

I have two suggestions I guess.

  1. Spell Check would be great, because Firefox doesn't pick up mispelled words in these comment boxes.
  2. It would be nice to have a link/button on the forums to view all new posts since last login (instead of having to click on each category to see which posts are "NEW").

That is all for now : )

@Cade_One - hmm... using

@Cade_One - hmm... using safari, it shows misspellings in all the text boxes; I'm not sure if FCKEditor has a built-in spell checker, though. If it does, I could probably get that enabled.

Also, on your own "tracker" page (http://www.opensourcecatholic.com/users/<username>/track), you can see if there are any updates on your own topics or topics in which you've posted. And on the forum page itself, under the count of topics in each forum, it should show if there are any new topics in there, or updated topics...
