  • Going the self-publishing route

[Good post on making a self-published book —Ed.]

When I began writing a book on the liturgy back in March of this year, I was looking for ways of getting it in print easily and cheaply.  I have no funny letters after my name, which means I have received no degrees (or schooling at all, for that matter) in the realm of liturgical studies.  But I didn't want that to stop me from getting my research out to the people.

I considered lulu.com at first, because I had heard good things about it through...

[UPDATE: Everything should be operational again. Please let me know if you have any trouble logging in or posting information!]

Well, after a few weeks on Slicehost, I've decided to switch to a different VPS with a company I've grown to like very much—Hot Drupal—and consolidate all my sites onto that system (right now my sites are spread across three different hosts).

Some observations after a couple weeks on the Slice:

    • 64-bit OS memory usage makes a large amount of RAM important, especially when running Drupal or another...

  • Drupal Theme Generators

Found this software, has anyone had any luck using this software?

    http://www.artisteer.com/

One problem is that it is only for Windows....an issue since I just switched to Fedora 11!

    Maybe there are some alternatives?

  • Open Source Software / Catholic Teaching

From the wayback machine: an article that originally appeared in 2005 on Linux.com, written by Marco Fioretti, titled "Free software's surprising sympathy with Catholic doctrine."

Use of the new information technology and the Internet needs to be informed and guided by a resolute commitment to the practice of solidarity in the service of the common good. The Internet requires international cooperation in setting standards and establishing mechanisms to promote and protect [that common good]. Individuals, groups,...
