iPhone - A Powerful tool for the New Evangelization
Elizabeth Westhoff, the Archdiocese of St. Louis’ Director of Marketing, wrote an excellent article summarizing the many ways she and others in St. Louis are using iPhones and a shoestring budget to promote the faith through video, pictures, social media, etc.
I love this section:
The production of each of these videos is something unseen in most other archdioceses across the country and for those of us who have been involved in their production; it has been a complete labor of love with an understanding that it is yet another...

Catholic/New Media Job Opportunities

Catholic Diocese App for iOS/Android powers new Jesuit App
Ever since building Catholic STL, an iOS app for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and then generalizing the code to produce the Catholic Diocese App for iOS, I’ve wanted to develop a version for Android.

A few months ago, the Jesuit Conference contacted me, and finally gave me the ability to do this. Not only was I able to build the Jesuit App for iOS and Android phones (Android version will be on Google Play soon!), but I was able to generalize the code from the...

The distraction caused by Mobile in Church
I have seen my friends(Youth) bringing mobile in church, which causes lot of distraction.I don’t understand why the youth are so attached with mobile. We have 365 days with 24 hours and we don’t worship God with our heart for 2-3 hours but worship the moble for long than they imagine.I am sick of seeing this kind of behaviour and want to write that bringing mobile to church is not a good thing. It causes distraction, and why do you bring mobile to church just for 2-3 hours.Even our catholic prist talks about the...

Beta test period for Catechism API - 25 keys available
A year ago, I registered the domain catholiccrossreference.com after my previous web site suffered a meltdown. This domain became the new home of my Catechism search engine (among other things).
Today, I am announcing the release of a Catechism API (still in beta). There is no documentation written for it yet, although the field names (and their values) are pretty straight-forward.
This API allows you to request information about the sections of the Catechism and to search the text of the Catechism by word or Scripture reference. In the near...
