Debian With a Refreshing Minty Flavor
Linux Journal is reporting that a new edition of Linux Mint has been released: Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE). Mint has been around since 2006 as a flavor of Ubuntu Linux and its current release is version 9, called Isadora.
The new Debian Edition - based on Debian Testing - will, as one would expect, differ from the standard Mint to which Ubuntu differs from Debian Testing. But there will also be a lot of similarities, such as robust package repositories, since Ubuntu is based on Debian in the...

Looking for..something
Hello, my name is David (DJ) Ortley.
I'm currently unemployed and am looking for work. At the moment, I have a few possibilities for employment in the hopper, but nothing is definite. The type of work that I’m looking for would probably either be a quick, one-time contract for a few weeks while something else comes through; or full-time employment, given the possibility that none of the other opportunities may come through. Regarding full-time employment, I’m willing to re-locate to most areas if necessary.

Question about Google Custom Site Search
Hello,
One of the sites I support is moving to a new host and a new redesign next week.
The current site has been running a Google Custom Search Engine, and will be on the redesigned site.

The question is how to handle the cutover.
Do I have to do anything specific in regards to telling Google to use the 'new' site index instead...

Any Way to Transfer Calendar Data into/out of Exchange?
I'm working on an Intranet for the Archdiocese, and one of the primary concerns brought up by the Data Center is online calendaring. They mentioned that our offices already use Microsoft Exchange/Outlook for shared and personal calendaring functionality, and they don't want to create duplication of efforts (or, worse, mismatched data) between the Intranet and Exchange.
My searching so far has been entirely futile, but I'm wondering—is there any way at all to import, export, sync, or do pretty much anything with calendar data in MS Exchange? Using Drupal, I...

Who are the "big players" in the Catholic community online?
This is a question I've wondered for a while, and I figured this would be the right crowd for discussion!
On Twitter you've got the "big players" - the people with a ton of influence and followers. There is no "Catholic" category on "People to Follow" on Twitter so we don't have a canonical version, but who would you say are the big players in Catholicism on Twitter? I've seen some tech guys with a great follower ratios, as well as recognizable entities like the Vatican and Diocese - those...

New Twitter Hashtag for Catholic Media, Social Media
There's a new Twitter hashtag around these parts, for social media use. This hashtag came about as a response to those who were wondering where to move after the bulk of the #cnmc (Catholic New Media Celebration) tweets were becoming less and less about the Celebration, and more and more about general Catholic social media practices and discussion.
Therefore, a general consensus was made that #cathmedia would be a good hashtag for Tweets having to do with Catholic media, and social media initiatives.
Some other hashtags I've used:
- #catholic -...
