Live-Blogging Steubenville 2009
Seen in St. Louis: The Office of Youth Ministry is live-blogging the 2009 Steubenville St. Louis Mid-America Youth Conference! Pretty snazzy - pictures, videos, audio clips, etc., and viewers can rate their favorite content!
Check it out, and leave feedback for @archstl on Twitter, or in the comments here. Have you live-blogged an event before? Are there any other events that are being (or have been) live-blogged by a Catholic group? It's definitely a way to increase visibility and 'branding.'

Can't line up pictures properly in css?
I am having trouble getting my css to line up properly. My css is quite messy as I am a beginner, and a lot of it is there that probably doesn't need to be, because I was testing different things. I need the two large silver bars to line up behind the login bar, and I can't seem to get them to get any closer to lined up than they are.
My css code....

Flocknote? Facebook? Twitter?
If one were forced to advocate the use of one (maybe two) social networking sites and/or other forms of new media, which would be best at the diocesan level? Any thoughts?

Hanging At The Public Library
One day during the week (2 this Summer) I do freelance work.
Since it's difficult to work at home with the many distractions, I tend to float around to various wifi locations to do my work. I've got about 3 or 4 coffeeshop haunts and about 3 public libraries that I'll rotate through.
The largest library I go to is in Minnetonka...that's where I am at the moment. They've got a large room for wifi users...4 rows of tables and some half-cubicles. It accomodates 40, but I usually only see 5-10. It's got...

WYSIWYG
I've run into this issue many times, in many different software packages and websites, and was wondering what anyone else's thoughts were on the issue... I read this article from SitePoint, and one of the 'Bad Features' of many code/HTML editors was listed as follows:

Whilst WYSIWYG can be useful for novice developers, you will soon discover that hand-coding HTML and CSS is quicker than any design package. It can also be essential if your application requires DOM manipulation. If a WYSIWYG view is provided, make... -
Why Twitter?
The Archdiocese of Saint Louis started its Twitter account in December 2008, in preparation for the news of a new Archbishop. In tandem with an SMS message signup, a timely update on the website, a press release, and a few other methods of generating buzz, the Archdiocese was able to reach thousands of Catholics in Saint Louis and around the world with news about its new Archbishop within a matter of minutes.
Why did the Archdiocese choose Twitter, and what are some good uses for Twitter? Well, Twitter is by...
